The Comcast Xfinity X1 DVR function is not working. The error message is: “Due to system maintenance, DVR is unavailable. This feature will be ready shortly”. I’ve looked on the Comcast support forums and word is this is a widespread and probably nationwide outage.
My usage gauge still reads 17% full. It gives me a little hope that my recordings really are there and will be watchable when Comcast figures this the heck out.
I’ve been cutting Comcast and X1 a ton of slack since I’ve had it. I know it has some bugs but this broken DVR is making me rethink this system. The new Roku 3 looks really cool. I just don’t know if I can shake up our TV habits that much.
UPDATE: Ok, so overnight Comcast fixed the DVR problem. All is well.
